Paris Trucks: The Clear Choice for BIRCH Moving Forward

Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time digging into truck options for the BIRCH lineup. When you’re building boards meant for smooth cruising, long drawn‑out carves, and that relaxed, surf‑inspired flow, the trucks matter just as much as the deck itself. They define the feel, the responsiveness, and the confidence a rider has under their feet.

There are plenty of great trucks on the market today—especially in the surf‑skate category. Some of them are incredibly fun, offering deep pumps and tight turns. I tested a wide range of them, from well‑known surf‑style systems to more experimental designs. Many were impressive in their own way, but none of them matched the specific ride experience I want BIRCH to deliver.

And that’s really the heart of it: BIRCH boards are built with a certain style of riding in mind. Smooth. Predictable. Flowing. A ride that feels natural, stable, and effortless—something you can take on mellow downhills, boardwalk cruises, or long carving sessions without overthinking your setup.

Now, to be clear, riders are always free to customize their boards however they like. One of my favorite things is seeing customers take a BIRCH deck and pair it with something unexpected. Some of the setups people have shared are wild, creative, and genuinely fun to watch in action. That’s part of the beauty of longboarding: it’s personal.

But when it comes to the completes we offer, I want to keep things simple, reliable, and true to the BIRCH identity. That’s why I’ve decided to stick with a reverse kingpin truck—and more specifically, to move forward with Paris Truck Co. as our standard.

Paris has been around for years, and their reputation is built on consistency, durability, and a carving feel that just works. Their geometry is smooth and intuitive, their quality control is rock solid, and their trucks complement the long, flowing style of our boards perfectly. They don’t try to reinvent the wheel—they just make a really good one.

So starting in 2026, you’ll begin seeing BIRCH completes set up with Paris Trucks. It’s a pairing that feels right, both in performance and philosophy. These boards are meant to be enjoyed straight out of the box, and Paris helps make that possible.

This decision is part of a bigger vision for BIRCH: creating boards that feel refined, intentional, and built for the kind of riding that inspired this brand in the first place. I’m excited for you to feel the difference.

More updates coming soon as we continue shaping the future of the lineup.
